3.4. The sexes of the hemp plant

3.5. Regular cannabis seeds
From cannabis seeds, either male or female plants can result in rearing. Only female plants are suitable for marijuana breeding, not only because the males contain less THC, but also because they can fertilize the valuable female plants and thus make worthless. Therefore, the male plants should be eradicated as soon as they appear. Regular (ie non-feminized) seeds have a mixing ratio of about 50:50 male and female seeds. Regular cannabis seeds are a good, inexpensive option for beginners and cost-conscious breeders, but also for professionals who want to tailor their gardens to their specific needs.
3.6. Feminised cannabis seeds
In principle, there are several ways to feminise cannabis seeds, but it is not enough to know the basics of Mendelian laws. The one described here is one common to growers and widely used.
For this, a female cannabis plant with the hormone gibberellic acid must be made to form male flowers. The resulting pollen contains only X chromosomes, ie female hereditary factors.
